Mary Statzer is Senior Curator at UNM Art Museum. She has created exhibitions in all mediums that expand on collaborative curatorial strategies, amplify student and diverse voices, and prioritize meaningful campus engagement.

In 2020, she developed UNMAM.ART a virtual platform for artist/student engagement, featuring the multi-media artist Rose B. Simpson. She recently co-organized the exhibition Push & Pull: The Prints of Helen Frankenthaler and Her Contemporaries with Angel Jiang, UNM Curator of Prints and Photographs, and Abundance: New Acquisitions from 2016 to 2026.

Statzer holds an MFA in printmaking from Arizona State University and PhD in the theory and history of art from University of Arizona. She edited The Photographic Object 1970, which was published by University of California Press in 2016.
